A Maths & Science Teacher from Stockton on Tees. Peter left the teaching profession to become an Engineer working within the sprinkler industry for companies such as Atlas, AFA Minerva and How.
In 1976, almost by accident, Armstrong Priestley was established, working from just one room in a shop in Yeadon, Leeds growing to what it is today and where it is today.
In 1995 Peter was invited to a meeting of the industry’s Trade Association, now BAFSA (British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association) and he and the company have been an active member of Council ever since. Elected as BAFSA Chairman in 2000 and recently retired as Chairman after 14 years in post Peter is much respected with the industry and he will be remembered as the Chairman who changed the industry Trade Association bringing it up to the level it is today.
Peter has long been an advocate of the benefits of sprinklers and continues to strive to raise awareness of the benefits of sprinklers by supporting the activities of the Association.
Peter is also an enthusiastic supporter of the National Fire Sprinkler Network and is a member of their Executive Committee.
In June 2016 Peter took on the role as Company Chairman where he continues to this day to encourage all employees to set high standards and maintain the company’s reputation as one of the country’s leading Fire Sprinkler specialists.
