This brings the total number of employees with excess of 25 years service to ten, excluding retired people.

A new netball franchise for the Yorkshire region has been formed to take part in the Fiat Netball Superleague 2012. The team is called the Yorkshire Jets and Armstrong Priestley Ltd are the match ball sponsors for this inaugural season. One of the sports halls at the Leeds Metropolitan University site at Headingley is to be converted into an appropriate stadium to accommodate the growing number of supporters and spectators. This work will be completed in April 2012 and until that time the Jets' home ground will be at the Bonus Arena in Hull. Armstrong Priestley Ltd are proud to sponsor the Jets and to be seen to be playing a part in the media promotion of Britain's most popular female team sport. Awarded - Leeds West Academy

Armstrong Priestley has been awarded a £250,000 contract by Interserve Engineering Services for the installation of a fire sprinkler system at Leeds West Academy.  The installation will consist of over 2500 sprinkler heads fed by a central water supply.

The new school will be a state-of-the-art building with facilities designed around three hubs: Innovation, Communications and Diversity.  The Communications hub will include a library, theatre space and a dance studio.

Armstrong Priestley has been involved from an early stage of this project and has provide assistance to the design team in finding solutions to incorporate the fire sprinkler in to the theatre to ensure that the sprinkler protection is installed  sympathetically to the character of the space.  Armstrong Priestley was also able to advise on ‘best practice’ for fire sprinkler systems which will now shorten the design program.

Chris Edwards, chief executive of Education Leeds, said, “This is the latest example of Education Leeds transforming learning through state-of-the–art buildings and facilities. The new Leeds West Academy building will be another brilliant, 21st Century learning environment where children and young people can achieve success and reach their full potential.”

The Academy is expected to open in September 2011.

Contract for Lincoln Academy

Sprinkler protection to new Lincoln Academy Armstrong Priestley has been awarded a £240,000 contract to install a fire sprinkler installation in to the Priory City of Lincoln Academy by Balfour Beatty Engineering Services.  The contract is to install fire sprinkler protection in accordance with BS EN 12845 and the RISC Authority technical bulletin TB221 ‘Sprinkler protection of Schools’.  All areas of the new buildings will be protected including the covered walkways.   The system will have approximately 2,500 sprinkler heads controlled by 2 installation control valves with the water supply

 
Contract for 6 BUPA care homes

Eastbury Manor is one of the 6 care home

Armstrong Priestley have been awarded the contract to retro fit residential fire sprinkler systems in to 6 BUPA care home located throughout the country from Cumbria to Surrey with a total contract value of £300K.  The size and complexity of the care homes vary considerable from grade1 listed country manor house to relatively more modern properties.
